Who else is doing this — and what they earn.

A donor-facing scan of comparable venues with annual revenue benchmarks, plus the novelty features that make the HUA Center unlike any of them. The Center combines three things no other U.S. venue does at once: a university campus, a dedicated sacred-arts mission, and a purpose-built, acoustically-tuned hall set inside a sustainable, nature-integrated landscape.

Novelty features, in detail.

Sound & Chanting Garden

A free, walkable outdoor sanctuary woven through native live oaks: bronze meditation bells, large singing bowls, a reflecting pool, and timed chant-stations (Vedic, Sanskrit, multi-tradition). Open dawn-to-dusk. Programmed weekly: Sunday community bhajan, guided sound walks, full-moon meditations.

Lakeside outdoor amphitheater

A 600-seat tiered amphitheater built into the slope above Pine Lake. Reclaimed cypress benching, lantern lighting, natural acoustics. Hosts the annual Nada Festival, sunset recitals, weddings, and a Diwali community evening.

Sustainable, nature-integrated design

LEED-targeted build: rooftop solar canopy offsetting ~60% of annual load, rainwater capture for landscape, reclaimed timber + local stone, native Florida xeriscaping (no turf), dark-sky lighting to preserve campus astronomy and wildlife corridors.

In-house recording studio + sacred label

A professionally-treated studio extension with TV / radio / podcast capability. Releases under the HUA Sacred Label — revenue-shared with artists — plus livestream subscription tier for global audiences.

Spatial-sound sacred installation

A signature lobby installation: immersive multi-channel audio rendering of Vedic chant, dhrupad alap, and temple soundscapes. A first impression visitors will not get anywhere else in the U.S.

Degree-linked stage

Every public performance feeds the BA / MA in Sacred Performing Arts: students assist, masterclass, and record alongside visiting artists. Performance becomes pedagogy, in a loop no temple or commercial venue offers.

Open door · Outside revenue

Centered on Hindu sacred arts. Open to the world.

The HUA Center's mission is the Hindu sacred and Indian classical performing arts. That mission is the soul of the building — but it is not a fence around it. As HUA's accreditation expands into adjacent course offerings (interfaith dialogue, music therapy, wellness, dance, world-classical studies), the Center will host — and earn from — a broader set of partners.

Facility rentals

$400K–$600K / yr (Y5 target)

Weddings on the amphitheater, corporate offsites, retreat days, film and podcast shoots, touring artist single-nights, university partner conferences.

Aligned programming

$200K–$350K / yr

Sufi, Carnatic-jazz, Buddhist chant, gospel-meets-bhajan, classical Western chamber on the off-nights, sound-healing weekends — anything resonant with the mission.

Wellness & retreat track

$150K–$300K / yr

Sound-immersion weekends in the Chanting Garden, yoga + chant retreats, corporate mindfulness intensives — leveraging the Pine Lake campus and on-site lodging.

Combined, outside bookings contribute an estimated $0.75M–$1.25M of annual revenue at steady state — roughly 30–50% of the Center's blended top line, alongside ticketed sacred-arts programming, tuition, label revenue, and gifts.

Where the gap is

No purpose-built, acoustically-tuned, sustainably-designed performing-arts hall in the United States is dedicated to the Hindu sacred arts and embedded inside an accredited university campus — with an outdoor lakeside amphitheater, a free public sound garden, an in-house recording label, and an open door for aligned outside programming. The HUA Center is the first venue designed from the ground up for all of it.
